What to do if you think someone is suicidal

ASK IF THE PERSON:
- Is thinking of harming himself or herself.
- Has a plan.
- Has made any preparations.
ACT:
- By taking away the means of committing suicide.
- By notifying the person's psychiatrist.
- As if it is an emergency; it often is.
