About Sally Altman

Sally J. AltmanSALLY J. ALTMAN has worked with WeissWrite since its inception in 2003.  On behalf of its adoption clients, she writes family narratives for couples pursuing private adoptions.  She is also a co-author of  two books: Forest Park: Jewel of St. Louis, a pictorial history of the park ,and Katrina Pet Tales, an online book chronicling the animal rescue effort during one of the worst disasters in American history.

Altman is health editor for the St. Louis Beacon -- stlbeacon.org -- an online journal started in the spring of 2008. The Beacon offers "news that matters" for the St. Louis region.

Prior to WeissWrite, Altman worked in the managed health care field for over 30 years.  She has consulted with Fortune 500 companies, providers of health care, insurance companies, and non-profit educational organizations.  Her work has included writing employee health education newsletters and corporate communications on health benefits,  public speaking, strategic analysis and planning, legislative analysis, health network design, and contract negotiations for health care services and fees.

Altman has a Master in Public Health from The University of Michigan. She lives in Richmond Heights with her husband, Dick Weiss. They are the parents of three girls.
