Edwin Shneidman studied and wrote about death -- and, in particular, suicide --for most of his life. Now at age 90, he is ready to die. "There is no heaven, no hell Happiness lies in the here and now and the satisfaction of living a good life without religion or my to guide you," is the way reporter Thomas Curwen summarizes Shneidman's beliefs as he approaches his last days on earth.
